The Spanish national basketball team has slipped two spots in the latest FIBA World Rankings, following a disappointing performance at Eurobasket 2025. After managing only two wins in five group-stage games, Spain now sits in seventh place, while the United States continues to lead the global standings.

The USA, with 845.8 points, held onto the top spot despite a modest third-place finish at the AmeriCup. Germany (765.9 points), who went undefeated to claim the European title and remain reigning world champions, climbed to second, pushing Serbia down to third. France stayed in fourth place, while Canada—enjoying one of the brightest periods in its history after finishing fourth at the AmeriCup—rose to fifth.

The biggest jump among the top-ranked teams came from Turkey, runners-up at Eurobasket. Their silver medal earned them 686.2 points and propelled them 15 spots to 12th place. Meanwhile, South Africa surged 17 positions to 110th. Argentina held onto eighth, and Brazil, thanks to winning the AmeriCup gold, closed out the top 10, moving up two places.

Besides Spain and Serbia, other teams that lost ground include Latvia (now 11th), Slovenia (14th), Czech Republic (21st), and Italy (15th), among others. At the very bottom of the FIBA rankings is Haiti, in 156th place with just 20 points.
